ARRL Field Day and 50th Club Celebration- 2023

On Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25, SLAARC will be participating in the annual ARRL FD. Also, we will be celebrating the 50th year of the club. SLAARC was founded in 1973.

Detailed Schedule – DRAFT

Location will at Brighton Rec Area Migizi Cabin (A Michigan park pass is required)

Friday, June 23

Setup will start at/after 16:00 EDT (4 pm). Please do not arrive before 4 pm (This is our check in time)
We will be setting up antennas and some radios, depending on the weather.
There is a fire pit at the site if the weather is good we will have a fire in the evening starting around 7pm. If you want to work some POTA with you own call sign we will have some antennas set up and radios (NO POWER will be running Friday night battery only)

Saturday, June 24

Setup will start at 09:00 EDT (9 am), depending on how much remains from the Friday set-up

Field day starts at 14:00 EDT (2 pm)
if you have a an operating time that you would like please email events@slaarc.com
Operating stations will be on 80M 40M 20M 15M 10M 6M
We are operating 3A so there will be Three HF stations operating at any one time and one VHF station

Around 5pm, we will have a cook-out weather permitting. If you are coming and would like to eat, please sign up we will have burgers and hotdogs. If you need something else let me know by emailing events@slaarc.com  If you can bring something as a side dish please sign up. (If the side dishes fill up still feel free to bring it).

Sunday, June 25

Field Day ends at 14:00 EDT (2 pm)
After 2pm tear down and load out

If anyone want to do a POTA activation after Field Day you are more then welcome.
All operators on site during field day will get POTA credit for the contacts that you make.
If you are operating from home when submitting your logs the Club name is South Lyon Area ARC
