March 2026 Meeting Recap

MarchTechnical Presentation

At our March meeting, club member Bob Kiessel W8BK gave a presentation on designing and evaluating an attic-based HF multiband antenna system within real-world constraints like space, RFI, and feedline routing.
He walked the group through several antenna options—including EFHW, fan dipole, and off-center-fed dipole—before selecting a center-loaded OCFD as his final solution.
The presentation showed that while attic antennas come with tradeoffs and tend to favor NVIS over DX, they can still deliver solid on-air performance with careful design, modeling, and tuning.
For those who missed it or would like to review the material, a recording of the meeting is now available on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJlKpWtAKIE.
