ARRL Amateur Radio Field Day 2025: June 28th-29th (Open to all)
The South Lyon Area Amateur Radio Club will be hosting field day at Migizi Rustic Cabin this year in the middle of the Brighton State Recreation area. During the event, club provided radios will be setup at stations throughout the cabin and available for interested attendees to learn and operate on. Later on Saturday afternoon, 4pm-5:30pm, the club will be hosting a pot-luck style dinner at the cabin for attendees to take a break from the radio to socialize and share a meal.
The event is part picnic, campout, practice for emergencies, informal contest, and most of all, fun! ARRL Field Day is the most popular ham radio activity held annually in the US and Canada. On the fourth weekend in June each year, more than 31,000 hams get together with their radio clubs, schools, or friends to operate from remote locations.
For those who wish to participate for the full weekend, the Migizi Cabin offers rustic bunks which can be used for an overnight stay. Be sure you bring a sleeping bag and pillow if you expect to spend the full weekend out in the cabin with other members!
Monthly: Club-Meeting: Sunday June 8th at 6:30pm – In-Person (Open to all)
